Staff Sergeant Wilson was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On July 2, 1967, he was killed while fighting the enemy by artillery fire near Quang Tri, South Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
