Lance Corporal Wilkins was a member of Company I, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On February 8, 1969, he was killed while fighting the enemy from shell fragments in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
