Major White was a member of the 357th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Takhli Air Base, Thailand. On November 24, 1969, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a mission over the Plain of Jars in Xiangkhoang Province, Laos, when radio contact was lost. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. Maj. White’s remains were identified by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency in 2017. His name is permanently engraved on the "Walls of the Missing" at the Honolulu Memorial.
