Captain Weisner was a member of 219th Aviation Company, 223rd Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade. On October 10, 1969, he was the pilot of a Cessna Bird Dog Observation Aircraft (O-1G) on a search mission over Kontum, Kontum Province, South Vietnam when the aircraft crashed into a cliff above a river. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
