Captain Wadsworth was a member of the 1st Air Commando Squadron at Pleiku Air Base, South Vietnam. On October 8, 1963, he was the pilot of a North American Trojan Aircraft (T-28B) on a combat support mission 50 miles southwest of Danang, Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam when his aircraft was shot down. His remains were recovered on June 7, 1995 and identified on March 2, 1999. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
