Staff Sergeant Trujillo was a member of Company D, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. On September 3, 1966, he was declared missing while fighting the enemy in South Vietnam. His remains were recovered on June 1, 1992 and identified on November 12, 1992. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
