Lieutenant Junior Grade Sather, U.S. Naval Reserve, was a member of Attack Squadron 145, Carrier Air Wing 14 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS CONSTELLATION (CVA-64). On August 5, 1964, he was the pilot of a Douglas Attack Skyraider (A-1H) that was hit by enemy fire just off shore from Thanh Hoa, North Vietnam, 25 miles north of Hon Me Island. His remains were recovered on August 14, 1985 and identified on November 4, 1985. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
