Lance Corporal Rykoskey was a member of Company C, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. On August 18, 1966, he was killed while fighting the enemy during his return from a patrol to Da Nang, South Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
