Sergeant First Class Rodman was a member of the 3rd Platoon, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy on Hill 598 at the "Iron Triangle" in North Korea on October 20, 1952. He was presumed dead on January 1, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
