Lieutenant Colonel Robinson was a member of the 1st Air Commando Squadron at Pleiku, South Vietnam. On June 4, 1967, he was the pilot of a Douglas Skyraider Attack Aircraft (A1-E) on a mission over Saravane Province, Laos, 25 miles south of Khe Sanh, South Vietnam, where his aircraft was struck by enemy fire and crashed. His remains were recovered on February 19, 1988 and identified on March 5, 1999. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
