Captain Rex was a member of the 357th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Takhli Royal Air Force Base. Thailand. On December 8, 1968, he was on a strike mission over Laos. As the aircraft dove on its target, it failed to release its ordnance or pull out of its dive. His remains were recovered on April 25, 1994 and identified on July 1, 1996. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
