Private First Class Pepper was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 26th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On April 6, 1968, he was killed by enemy small arms fire while fighting in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
