Lieutenant Parker was a member of Attack Squadron 86, Carrier Air Wing 15 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS CORAL SEA (CVA-43). On March 4, 1970, he was the pilot of a Vought Attack Aircraft Corsair II (A-7A). After launching his aircraft immediately crashed into the South China Sea. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
