Lieutenant Musselman was a member of Attack Squadron 82, Carrier Air Wing 8 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS AMERICA (CVA-66). On September 10, 1972, he was the pilot of a Vought Attack Aircraft Corsair II (A-7C) over Nhan Dan, North Vietnam when his aircraft crashed. His remains were recovered on July 7, 1981 and identified on July 20, 1981. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
