Commander Morrow was a member of Attack Squadron 196, Carrier Air Wing 14 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS CONSTELLATION (CVA-64). On November 2, 1967, he was the pilot of a Grumman Attack Aircraft Intruder (A-6A) over North Vietnam when his aircraft crashed. His remains were recovered on August 23, 1978 and identified on September 11, 1978. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
