Private First Class Mayberry was a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 57th Field Artillery Battalion, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 28, 1950. His remains were recovered on May 28, 2004 and identified on July 29, 2009. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
