Private First Class Lucas was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Private First Class Lucas was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 26, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. In 2017, his remains were identified by the department of Defense. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
