Lieutenant Laws was a member of Fighter Squadron 24, Carrier Air Wing 21 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS HANCOCK (CVA-19). On April 3, 1966, he was the pilot of a Vought Crusader Fighter (F-8E) over North Vietnam when his aircraft crashed. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. LT Laws' remains have been recovered and identified.
