For his leadership and valor, Corporal Larkin was awarded the Bronze Star with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Corporal Larkin was a member of Company C, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Hoengsong, South Korea on February 12, 1951 and died while a prisoner on April 30, 1951. CPL Larkin's remains were recovered and identified 2012. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
