Private First Class Keefe was a member of Headquarters and Service Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On May 20, 1967, he was killed by enemy small arms fire in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
