Notes
Private First Class Johnson was a member of Troop B, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On August 21, 1966, he was a member of a ground reconnaissance team In Pleiku Province, South Vietnam. When trying to cross a rope bridge across the Ia Drang River, he fell and was swept away. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
