Captain Hyman was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes

USMA Class of 1948, Captain Hyman commanded Company A, 1st Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on July 30, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were recovered in 2019. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, he is buried at the Arlington National Cemetery.
