Staff Sergeant Harrison was a member of Troop B, 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On February 26, 1971, he was the observer in a Hughes Loach Observation Helicopter (OH-6A) on a visual reconnaissance mission providing close air support to an South Vietnamese Army being ambushed in Kampong Province, Cambodia. It came under heavy machine gun fire, crashed and burned. His remains were recovered on September 21, 1995 and identified on February 7, 2002. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
