Corporal Hare was a member of Battery B, 15th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War during the battalion's movement south along the main supply route near Hoengsong, South Korea on February 13, 1951 and died while a prisoner on April 30, 1951.His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. CPL Hare's remains have been recovered and identified.
