Sergeant Hamilton was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Medical Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Sergeant Hamilton was medic with of the Medical Company attached to the 3rd Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. On December 2, 1950, he was tending his comrades in a convoy escorting the wounded on the road between Sinhung-ni and Hagaru-ri, North Korea. The convoy came under intense fire and he was listed as Missing in Action. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
