Lieutenant Commander Glanville was a member of Heavy Photographic Squadron 61 aboard the aircraft carrier USS HANCOCK (CVA-19). On June 13, 1966, he was the pilot of a Douglas Skywarrior Attack Aircraft (RA-3B) on a night low level reconnaissance mission over Ha Tinh Province, North Vietnam when the aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
