Major Flowers was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Notes
Major Flowers was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was the Executive Officer of the 8th Engineer Combat Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action when the battalion's command post near Yongdong, South Korea was overrun on July 31, 1950.
