Commander Feldhaus was a member of Attack Squadron 152, Carrier Air Wing 16 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS ORISKANY (CVA-34). On October 8, 1966, he was the pilot of a Douglas Attack Skyraider (A-1H) over North Vietnam when his aircraft crashed. His remains were recovered on June 27, 2000 and identified on October 25, 2001. He is interred at Arlington National Cemetery. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
