Private First Class Czerwonka was a member of Battery D, 2nd Battalion, 13th Marines, 1st Marine Division. On May 10, 1968, he was killed while fighting the enemy near Ngok Tavak, South Vietnam. His remains were recovered on September 8, 1999 and identified on March 30, 2005. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
