Commander Curry was a member of Attack Squadron 145, Carrier Air Wing 2 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS RANGER (CVA-61). On January 8, 1971, he was flying in a Grumman Attack Aircraft Intruder (A-6C) over North Vietnam when he was Killed in Action. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
