Private First Class Bruner was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Private First Class Bruner was a member of a machine gun team with Company G, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was Killed in Action while defending his position on "George Hill" near Chindong-ni, along the Pusan Perimeter in South Korea on September 3, 1950.
