Lieutenant Colonel Brown was a member of the 428th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 474th Tactical Fighter Wing, Takhli Air Base, Thailand. On November 7, 1972, he was the pilot of a General Dynamics Aardvark Fighter (F-111A) on a mission near Ban Phaphilang, Khammouane Province. Laos, where radio contact was lost. LT COL Brown's remains have been recovered and identified. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
