Notes
Private First Class Bowers was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 14, 1951 and was killed by a guard on May 3, 1951. PFC Bowers' remains have been recovered and identified in 2015. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
