Staff Sergeant Bingham was a member of Headquarters, United States Army, Vietnam. On May 10, 1971, he was a member of a long range reconnaissance team which was inserted into western Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam, 12 miles from Laos. After insertion, contact was lost with the team. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
