Lieutenant Avore was a member of Attack Squadron 163, Carrier Air Wing 16, U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS ORISKANY (CVA-34).On July 18, 1965, he was the pilot of a Douglas Attack Aircraft Skyhawk (A-4E). During launching his aircraft crashed into the South China Sea. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
