Staff Sergeant Auxier was a rifleman with Company C, 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry Regiment, 198th Infantry Brigade. On July 39, 1968, his company had taken night defensive positions a few miles northwest of Tam Ky, Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam. A helicopter was about to land when it exploded catching Staff Sergeant Auxier in the blast. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
