First Lieutenant Adams was a member of the 33rd Tactical Fighter Squadron. On April 19, 1966, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a bombing mission 20 miles south of Quang Ke, Quang Binh Province, North Vietnam. His aircraft crashed and no ejection was seen. His remains were recovered on October 6, 1993 and identified on March 17, 2005. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
