Sandra Abell was born in Michigan on May 9, 1941 and moved to the Canal Zone. She married Specialist 4th Class Richard Wathen Abell, Jr. on July 25, 1964 at St. Mary's Mission, Balboa, Canal Zone. After Richard was released from the Army, he and Sandra moved to the United States. They were living in Falls Church Virginia when Sandra died of ovarian cancer, She was cremated and buried at the Corozal American Cemetery
