Second Lieutenant Jewett was a member of the 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on September 19, 1952. Initially listed as Missing in Action, his name is permanently engraved at the Honolulu Memorial
