Ensign Quinn was the pilot of a F9F-2 Panther Jet fighter with Fighter Squadron 91, aboard the aircraft carrier USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CV-47). On March 27, 1953, after returning from a combat mission, while landing on the carrier's deck, his aircraft bounced over the barrier and crashed into another plane killing him and the plane's handler. |
