Captain Harms was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in the vicinity of Kunu-ri, North Korea on November 26, 1950, and presumed dead on March 2, 1954. His remains were recovered on November 19, 1999 and identified on March 8, 2001. CAPT Harms' name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
