Private First Class Gedney was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in South Korea on July 8, 1950 and died while a prisoner while on the "Tiger Death March" at Hanjang-ni, North Korea on December 9, 1950 of starvation and multiple illness. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
