Second Lieutenant Walker was the observer in an OE-1 Cessna observation aircraft with Headquarters Battery, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division. On September 9, 1952, while on a reconnaissance mission over enemy territory, his aircraft was shot down. No parachutes were seen. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
