For his leadership and valor, Private First Class Richardson was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Purple Heart with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Notes

Private First Class Richardson was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in South Korea on January 1, 1951. He was presumed dead on January 14, 1954. PFC Richardson's name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. His remains were recovered and identified in 2014.
