Lieutenant Junior Grade Green, U.S. Naval Reserve, was a member of Fighter Squadron 191, Carrier Air Wing 19 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS BON HOMME RICHARD (CVA-31). On September 12, 1965, he was the pilot of a Vought Crusader Fighter (F-8E) on a combat mission 15 miles west of Phat Diem, Thanh Hoa Province, North Vietnam when his aircraft was shot down. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
