Lieutenant Junior Grade Brown was a member of Fighter Squadron 191, Carrier Air Wing 19, U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS BON HOMME RICHARD (CVA-31). On July 29, 1965, he was the pilot of a Vought Crusader Fighter (F-8E) on a strike mission near Phu Vinh, Vinh Binh Province, South Vietnam. After the strike, his aircraft crashed into the ground. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
