Lieutenant Commander Broms was a member of Attack Squadron 66, Carrier Air Wing 10, U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS INTREPID (CVS-11). On August 1, 1968, he was the pilot of a Douglas Attack Aircraft Skyhawk (A-4C) on a strike mission on Dong Dun, Ha Tiny Province, North Vietnam. When he completed a pass, his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire and he crashed. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. LCDR Roms' remains have been recovered and identified.
